The Academic Programs office welcomes academic advisor Channing Edwards.
Edwards will support the academic journey of CALS students, assisting them with academic course planning, connecting them to campus resources based on their needs and facilitating majors and career exploration.
She will also teach ALS 110 Academic and Career Skills in the fall of 2023 and ALS 103 Freshman Transitions and Diversity in Agriculture and Life Sciences in the spring of 2024.
“Channing is a North Carolina State University alum who brings institutional knowledge and diverse experiences in the advising, mentoring and counseling areas from her undergraduate and graduate years on campus,” says Director of Student Services Tricia Buddin. “I’m so excited about the skills and experiences she adds to the CALS advising team. I know our students will learn much from her.”
Previously, Edwards was an academic advisor at Wake Tech Community College. Before that, she was an academic mentor for NC State student-athletes and a counselor in the university’s Counseling Center.
Edwards earned a bachelor’s degree in fashion and textile management from NC State and a master’s in business administration from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She returned to NC State to obtain a master of education degree in college counseling and student development.
Outside the classroom, Edwards loves to travel, is an avid foodie, and enjoys group fitness and running.
