The course is an overview of the animal behavior of companion, food and zoo animals as well as physiotherapy as a part of pain management and recovery for domestic and wild species. The course will give students a better understanding about how veterinarians assess various types of animal behavior patterns and the various modalities of physiotherapy being used for domestic animals. The course will be taught with the logistical support and assistance from veterinary faculty of Harper Adams University on their campus.
There are two-fold objectives of the course;
1. Introduce students to the principles of companion animal, farm animal and zoo animal behavior via lectures and hands-on laboratory modules.
2. Educate students about the role of physiotherapy in rehabilitation and assessment of animal patients using conformation and biomechanics.
