My research focuses on insecticide resistance management and IPM strategies for controlling
western flower thrips (WFT) in tomato and pepper production systems. I am monitoring
frequency of insecticide resistance alleles in thrips populations and evaluating cultural practices
such as reflective mulches to develop integrated program for sustainable thrips management. I
am broadly trained as an insect ecologist, with expertise in insect biology and population
dynamics, pollinator and virus ecology, and insect resistance management. In addition to my
academic training, I have industry experience working with multiple pest species in laboratory,
greenhouse, and field settings, further strengthening my applied research approach. I am
passionate about bridging research and extension to develop data-driven pest management
solutions for sustainable agricultural production.
