Area(s) of Expertise

Ryan’s interests focus on fish movement ecology. His work makes use of fine-scale acoustic
telemetry to track economically valuable species at North Carolina’s artificial reefs. Specifically,
he is interested in how movement behaviors and fates can be used to model habitat use and
estimate vital population parameters such as natural, discard, and fishing mortality.
