Paul Janampa

Community-Engaged Research Program Manager

Bio

I provide program management for the Agricultural Workers Digital Equity Initiative’s community-engaged research. The Agricultural Workers Digital Equity Initiative is a new effort led by the NC Farmworker Health Program with funding from the National Institutes of Health. In collaboration with East Carolina University, NC State University provides research support, specifically in community engagement and statistical analysis. The goal of the initiative is to transform farmworkers’ access to affordable, reliable high-speed broadband internet to enhance telehealth models and reduce health inequities. My role within the initiative is to engage agricultural workers, community health workers, and others in identifying needs and developing solutions; serving as a liaison with the NC Farmworker Health Program; and facilitating undergraduate student research experiences.

I am a strong believer in engaging community members and partners throughout the entire process of a research partnership. Prior to coming to NC State, I worked as a case manager, community outreach coordinator, and project coordinator in various nonprofits and community and public health institutions in New Hampshire and North Carolina.
