Area(s) of Expertise

My current focus is assessing the population and understanding the ecological requirements of an endangered coqui frog endemic to Puerto Rico. The coqui llanero (Eleutherodactylus juanariveroi) is the only wetland specialist and smallest species of coqui frog on the island. Its limited range and relatively unknown natural history makes this tiny species especially susceptible to changes in the climate and habitat loss. With this research, I hope to provide valuable information that will aid in the conservation of the species and the protection of their vulnerable wetland habitat.
