Bio

My research examines host-pathogen-environment interactions, with a focus on snakes and the fungal pathogen Ophidiomyces ophidiicola. I aim to map the distribution of pathogen strains among wild snake communities in the eastern United States, and identify how changing environmental conditions can modulate host immune responses and strain growth and virulence, ultimately affecting infection outcomes. I am also passionate about outreach, and aim to boost scientific literacy in our community and inspire the next generation of scientists to follow their passions.
