Research Interests

My research has encompassed a broad background of disciplines from freshwater to marine, including sea turtle biology, fisheries management and stock assessment, physical oceanography, and most recently, water resources. Specific areas of focus at the Center for Applied Aquatic Ecology include time-series analysis of water quality data, and the effects of human impact and local climate change on water quality in Falls Lake and the Neuse River Estuary.  My research requires extensive experience with data analysis and management, bioinformatics and statistical modeling, and also emphasizes real-time remote-monitoring, sensor and software development, and innovative technologies.
