Yates Mill Aquatic Conservation Laboratory Open House

Join us for a day of discovery at NC State University’s Yates Mill Aquatic Conservation Laboratory! In coordination with NC Sci-Fest, our doors are open to the public for an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at our conservation efforts. See some of North Carolina’s most imperiled freshwater fauna up close and in person.

What to Expect:
- Meet some of North Carolina’s rarest freshwater fishes, mussels and snails.
- Be amazed at the surprising super powers of the lowly freshwater mussel!
- Learn from staff biologists and student interns about ongoing conservation efforts.
- Find out how propagation and rearing of these species is done.
