Eric van Heugten
Bio
Dr. van Heugten is interested in developing applied research and outreach programs in swine nutrition that have a direct commercial application to improve the profitability and environmental sustainability of pork production. Research and extension efforts include the evaluation of abatement strategies to reduce the impact of heat stress in pigs and sows, the evaluation of alternative ingredients and enzymes on production efficiency, nutritional management of manure and recycling of animal waste products, and the evaluation of novel additives and lipid sources in pigs and sows to improve health and economic return.
