Family Life Coaching Accelerated Course
This BCC-approved, 30-hour CEU is a distance-education course that prepares family and youth practitioners to meet the growing demands of families. Students focus on life coaching to help families and youth reach goals and achieve happiness and explore and examine theoretical and empirical literature in coaching.
Training for Childhood Educators
The "Building Connections with Children" course is 5 hour, .5 CEU online course on effective ways to encourage, discipline, and connect with children in early childhood education settings. Instruction uses a mixture of self-paced and real-time learning through the use of the web, video, and social media technologies.
An online alternative teacher certification program in agricultural education, LEAP is designed for professionals who desire to work with agriculture and people. Students who complete LEAP will receive a class "A" teaching license from the state of North Carolina.
DELTA is a 40-hour new teacher induction program that meets the DPI-sponsored requirement for provisionally licensed Career and Technical Education teachers. Completion of all seven components is required to graduate.
Curriculum for Agricultural Science Education (CASE)
CASE Institute is an intensive professional development workshop leading to certification in a specific CASE course. Sessions provide teachers important background related to the pedagogy used in CASE curricula and practice teaching various lessons to prepare them for classroom instruction. The project goal is to implement a national curriculum for secondary agricultural education that provides a high level of educational experiences to enhance the rigor and relevance of agriculture, food, and natural resources (AFNR) subject matter. Besides elevating the rigor of AFNR knowledge and skills, CASE provides purposeful enhancement of science, mathematics, and English language understanding.
