Dr. Warner was raised on a small hog and grain crops farm in Washington Court House, Ohio. In June 1998, Dr. Warner earned her Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Education from the Ohio State University. As part of her degree program, she completed her student teaching at Johnstown High School in Johnstown, Ohio. Upon graduation, Dr. Warner relocated to Orlando, Florida to teach exploratory agriscience courses to 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students at Corner Lake Middle School. After two years of teaching at the middle school level, she accepted a position at Robert Hungerford Preparatory High School in Eatonville, Florida. In 2003, Dr. Warner accepted a graduate teaching and research assistantship at the University of Florida and began work on a Ph.D. in Agricultural Education. Dr. Warner was a faculty member at California Polytechnic State University from September 2006 – December 2009 and joined the AEE Department at North Carolina State in January 2010.

In her spare time, Dr. Warner enjoys traveling, reading, and watching college sports.
