TEDXYouth Event Coming to Raleigh
TEDxYouth@ChavisWay is a full-day event being curated by NC State Extension program #PassTheMicYouth in collaboration with Wake County 4-H, Alliance Health, and the John Chavis Community Center. #PassTheMicYouth is an NC State Extension multimedia program that amplifies the voices and stories of young changemakers around the world through a youth-led podcast, blog, and corresponding curricula.
Under the theme of “Inspiring Change,” the goal of TEDxYouth@ChavisWay is to bring together bright young minds in the Triangle area between the ages of 10 and 19 to give talks that are idea-focused to foster learning, inspiration and wonder – and provoke conversations that matter.
Talks will be filmed and an edit will be hosted on the TEDx YouTube channel. The event’s planning team will work with speakers and performers ahead of time to craft the talk and finalize performances. Talks can be up to 18 minutes, on any themes or topic related to the theme of inspiring change (note: the theme is open to each individual’s interpretation). Performances can be up to 5 minutes and can include original music, spoken word poetry, dance, and other forms of artistic expression.
TEDxYouth@ChavisWay is scheduled for Saturday, March 11th from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at the John Chavis Community Center in Raleigh. Additional information about can be found on the event’s website.
