NC Agriculture Teachers Attend DELTA

The Developing Educational Leaders and Teachers of Agriculture (DELTA) program recently held their agricultural education Fall induction conference at the NC FFA Center located at White Lake, which included 32 attendees. DELTA is a 40-hour program for provisionally-licensed and newly-certified agricultural education teachers. The induction conference consists of a two-day packed agenda providing teachers the opportunity to learn from master teachers from the field, agricultural education faculty, the state agricultural education/FFA staff and from the collaboration with peers.

This program is offered by NC Agricultural Education state staff and coordinated by the Department of Agricultural and Human Sciences. DELTA meets the Department of Public Instruction-sponsored requirement for provisionally-licensed career and technical education teachers. Teachers must complete all seven DELTA components to meet the requirements of the program. Components include Regional Fall and Spring In-Service Meetings, Regional Coordinator Visit, Fall and Spring Induction Programs, NC State FFA Convention Experience and the New and Beginning Agriculture Teacher Workshop.
