This course is a bold and inspiring Maymester study abroad course aimed at fostering intercultural competence, community engagement, self-reflection, and a more global understanding of youth, family, and community sciences in Barcelona and along Spain’s historic Camino de Santiago. Students will have the opportunity to learn about youth, family, and community issues within an international context and develop skills to effectively engage with diverse populations across cultural, geographical, and linguistic differences.

The course will take place from May 15 to June 3 2023 and involve one week of instruction and two weeks of travel in Spain. After spending a few days focusing on community engagement in Barcelona, you will travel to Pamplona to hike through the Navarra and La Rioja regions of the Camino de Santiago.
