AHS Highlights from the 2024 AAAE Conference
Faculty members and graduate students from the Department of Agricultural and Human Sciences recently attended the American Association for Agricultural Education (AAAE) Annual Conference, held in Manhattan, KS. AAAE aims to be the premier national society for social science scholarship in food, agriculture, and natural resources, serving those engaged in agricultural education, communication, leadership, international development, and extension education at colleges and universities across the United States.
Several graduate students had the opportunity to present their research papers and posters at the conference. Among them were Jillian Ford, Katlyn Foy, Mikayla Daniels, and Mary Kate Lanier. Faculty members Misty Lambert, Wendy Warner, and Joy Morgan also presented their research. Wendy Warner was elected as the Program Improvement Committee Chair for 2024-2025, while the department facilitated two professional development sessions. The first, titled “SAE for All Pre-Service Curriculum Professional Development,” was led by Jillian Ford and Misty Lambert. The second, titled “Coordinating the Ag Ed Caucus,” was planned by Travis Park.
A special congratulations to Mikayla Daniels, who received third place in the research paper competition for her paper titled “Unearthing Agricultural Legacies: The Jesup Wagons Impact on Black Heritage and Extension Services.”
Congratulations to everyone who presented at the conference!
