Agriculture and Extension Education Faculty Navigate Ways to Connect with Students Online
While the COVID-19 pandemic has left everyone quarantined to their homes, an effort to stay connected with students has become a very important priority to the Agriculture and Extension Education (AEE) faculty. Faculty have been working towards connecting with over 200 undergraduates via Zoom for course advising with sessions lasting for about ½ hour in length which translates to around 120+ hours of invested time over these last few weeks. Dr. Joy Morgan was able to use virtual audiences to address the poster presentations component for her AEE 435 Professional Presentations course. While Dr. Wendy Warner crafted the idea to recognize AEE senior, Mary Kate Morgan, via Zoom forum to honor her for being named one of the three Matthews Medal Winners for 2020.
“I think our faculty have really stepped up to connect with students in this challenging time.” Dr. Park states.
