AEE Graduate Student Earns NC State GSA Teaching Award

The Agricultural and Human Sciences Department is excited to share that one of our graduate teaching assistants, Mary Kate Morgan, was recently recognized with the NC State Graduate Student Association’s Teaching Award. This award recognizes graduate students who exemplify the highest degree of teaching achievement in the classroom or laboratory environment at NC State. There were only 15 award winners selected from across the university.

“Mary Kate Morgan truly exemplifies the highest degree of teaching achievement in that she continually  demonstrates instructional excellence in the AEE 226 course. This, coupled with her dedication to students, makes Mary Kate one of the best graduate teaching assistants you will find on the NC State campus.” noted Dr. Wendy Warner, who was the instructor of record for the course.

Morgan was very appreciative to win the award. She stated “There are so many phenomenal graduate teaching assistants in the graduate school at NC State, so I was absolutely shocked when my name was called as a winner of the Graduate Teaching Award. I am honored to receive this award from the Graduate Student Association! I am so appreciative of Dr. Wendy Warner for encouraging me to apply for the award and helping me grow as an educator. I am also thankful to the students of AEE 226 who allowed me to be a part of their educational journey for the last year.”

Morgan will graduate this spring with a Master of Agricultural and Extension Education. She hopes to continue in teaching and outreach in some capacity. Congratulations Mary Kate on your award and your continued success in the future.
