Master of Science in AEHS with a concentration in Family and Community Sciences

  • AEHS 502: Theories in Youth, Family, and Community Sciences
  • Choose One Applied Concepts Course:
    • AEHS 543: Applied Concepts in Parenting & Family Life Education
    • AEHS 553: Applied Concepts in Child & Youth Development
  • AEHS 521: Program Planning
  • AEHS 577: Evaluation
  • AEHS 585: Ethics and Family Policy
  • AEHS 510: Supervised Professional Experience in YFCS
  • AEHS 578: Research Methods in AEHS
  • Choose one of the following:
    • ST 511: Statistical Methods for Researchers
    • AEHS 777: Qualitative Research Methods in AEHS

AEHS 695 – Master’s Thesis Research (6 hours)

Students are allowed to take 6 hours of elective courses. These can be in AEHS or other disciplines with your advisors’ approval.

Although it is not required, students can also declare a minor in another discipline. Students will need to take 9 hours in a specialty and work with a professor from that area.

Students will take 9 hours of elective courses. These courses must be at the 500 level or above and can be taken in AEHS or from other academic disciplines subject to the approval of the student’s advisor and DGP.
