Agricultural Teacher Resources

DELTA

The Developing Educational Leaders and Teachers of Agriculture (DELTA) program meets the DPI requirement for initial CTE restricted license teachers. Teachers holding residency, temporary, or those who are adding agricultural education to an existing teaching license are highly encouraged to attend this beneficial training. This conference will also benefit newly certified teachers. Please see the schedule information listed below. Teachers must complete all seven DELTA components to meet the requirement of the 40-Hour New Teacher Induction Program. The DELTA program is coordinated by the North Carolina Agricultural Education State Staff at North Carolina State University.

A certificate of completion for the 40-Hour New Teacher Induction will be provided upon completion of all seven components listed below:

  1. Regional Fall In-Service Meetings – Teachers should attend their respective Agricultural Education Regional Fall In-Service Meeting during the month of September. The schedule is available online at: http://ncffa.org/news-events/events/
  2. Regional Coordinator Visit – Each teacher will be visited by their respective regional agricultural education coordinator at their school. This visit will provide individualized coaching and instruction for each teacher.
  3. Agricultural Education Fall DELTA – Teachers should attend Fall DELTA October 11-12, 2024, at the North Carolina FFA Center in White Lake. Lodging is included for the evening of October 10.
  4. Agricultural Education Spring DELTA – Teachers should attend Spring DELTA February 28 – March 1, 2025, at the North Carolina FFA Center in White Lake. Lodging is included for the evening of February 27.
  5. Regional Spring In-Service Meetings – Teachers should attend their respective Agricultural Education Regional Spring In-Service Meeting during the month of March. The schedule is available online at: http://ncffa.org/news-events/events/
  6. State FFA Convention Experience – Teachers should attend the opening day of the North Carolina FFA State Convention, June 24, 2025. Additional information will be shared in spring 2025.
  7. New and Beginning Agriculture Teacher Workshop – Teachers should attend this workshop held during the annual CTE Summer Conference in July.
