Every summer, North Carolina 4-H Electric Congress draws young people from across the state for hands-on learning, and fun, in science, technology, engineering and math related to electricity. The event is in its 70th year.

Empowering Future Engineers at 4-H Electric Congress

Participants ages 11 to 18 gain hands-on experience in the fundamentals of electricity. Though the number of female electrical engineers nationwide hovers at about 8 percent, 45 percent of Electric Congress participants since 2000 have been female.

1,000 4-H Hands Feed The Hungry

Nearly 500 4-H’ers lived their pledge of “hands to larger service” Monday July 18 as they joined together to pack 80,000 meals for hungry North Carolina families.
