Seafood Lab to offer HACCP workshops in May

The N.C. State University Seafood Laboratory at Morehead City’s Center for Marine Sciences and Technology will offer two workshops in May on HACCP food safety planning for the seafood industry.

Basic Seafood HACCP, offered May 17-19, is a two-and-a-half day workshop intended for those in the U.S. seafood processing and importing industry and regulatory officials. This training satisfies the Food and Drug Administration requirements under Title 21 CFR Part 123. Cost is $160 per person which includes training, course books and certification fee.

Segment Two Training, offered May 19, is available for those who have completed the online Segment One* training (available through Cornell University). Cost for Segment Two is $60 which includes training and certification fee.

*Note: Online Segment One training is a prerequisite course needed to attend Segment Two. You are required to bring a “course completion” email in order to be admitted to the workshop.
