CALS dean candidates named
A search committee named to select candidates for dean of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences has selected three candidates.
CALS Dean Johnny Wynne, who has served as interim dean or dean for nine years, plans to retire at the end of June.
The three candidates are:
Richard Linton
Professor and Chair, Food Science and Technology Department
Ohio State University
Gary Pierzynski
Interim Dean, College of Agriculture and Interim Director, K-State Research and Extension
Kansas State University
W. David Smith
Associate Dean for Research and Director, North Carolina Agricultural Research Service
North Carolina State University
The three candidates will be on campus for interviews the first two weeks of June. As part of the interview process, each candidate will participate in an open forum during which they will give a presentation on The Future of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences as Related to the University’s Strategic Plan and answer questions from the audience. All the forums will be held at the Whitherspoon Cinema.
The interview schedule is as follows.
W. David Smith – June 5-7; open forum – June 7, 2-3:30 p.m.
Gary Pierzynski – June 10-12; open forum – June 12, 10-11:30 p.m.
Richard Linton – June 13-15, open forum – June 15, 2-3:30 p.m.
