Updated Resource: System Access Removal For Separating Employees

Do you ever get the following questions related to employee separations?

“When does a separating employee’s email access go away?”
“Will the supervisor have access to the separating employee’s email after they leave?”
“How do I transfer ownership of G-Suite files to someone else before the employee leaves?”
“What will the separating employee have access to if they continue as a student on campus?”
“How long will the separated employee have access to their Employee Self Service after they leave?”

The System Access Removal Procedures for Separating Employees has been updated to help answer these questions and more regarding separating employees.

Also, the previous System Access Removal Checklist document that OIT provided in the past has been merged into the Asset Tracking form and the form is now called “Asset & System Tracking.” This should help streamline efforts by eliminating the need to work with two different lists (one for assets such as keys/equipment and a separate one for systems). This tracking sheet will help log what the employee has access to, and links to the System Access Removal Procedures website to help guide you through what is needed for the different systems that the separating employee is assigned.
