Faculty Agricultural Leadership Learning Institute

CALS leadership effectiveness

Are you interested in strengthening your leadership skills? If so, the CALS Leadership Office has an 8-session program during the 2022 Fall semester that involves topics, assessments, and reflections that will support your development as a leader.

The goal of the Agricultural Leadership Learning Institute (ALLI – pronounced “ally”) for Faculty is to provide focused, in-depth developmental opportunities to both empower and enhance the leadership abilities of the selected participants. Former ALLI participants have advanced into leadership roles such as department head not long after completing this program.

If you are interested in participating, please complete the questions below and submit this form to Dr. Rhonda Sutton (rhonda_sutton@ncsu.edu) no later than Monday, June 6, 2022. She will be in touch by the end of June to let you know if you have been selected to participate.

Register online today.
The deadline to register for ALLI Faculty is Friday, July 1, 2022

Testimonials from former ALLI Faculty participants:

  • In attending this course, I quickly realized that capability as a researcher/scientist and the drive to achieve alone are insufficient to be a successful leader in academia. We generally assume that domain-knowledge somehow translates to essential skills like conflict resolution, time-management, and team-leading which is quite wrong. I benefited greatly from this course learning about myself and others around me and how to successfully assume leadership positions. I highly recommend it.
  • Thanks so much for putting this program together! It was an amazing experience and I learnt a lot about myself, my strengths and weaknesses. I thoroughly enjoyed the program!
  • I’ve taken a number of leadership courses, but this one was by far the best in terms of organization, and in terms of the way it stimulated thought and open discussion.
