Extension Wins APLU National Diversity Award
Susan Jakes, NC State Extension associate state program leader for community and rural development, along with collaborators on the Coming Together for Racial Understanding team, was honored with the Association of Public and Land-Grant Universities (APLU) National Diversity in Extension Award for 2021.

Richardson Named Culpepper Distinguished Professor In Aquatic Weed Science
Rob Richardson was recently named NC State’s William H. Culpepper, Jr. Distinguished Professor in Aquatic Weed Science for his outstanding contributions in aquatic weed management.

Dr. Wusheng Liu recognized with ASHS Early Career Award
Dr. Wusheng Liu, assistant professor in the Department of Horticultural Science, recently returned from the American Society of Horticultural Science (ASHS) conference where he was awarded first place in the Early Career Competition
Yelverton Named 2021 Crop Science Fellow
NC State Crop and Soil Sciences Extension Specialist and professor of turfgrass weed science Fred Yelverton was named as a 2021 Crop Science Society of America Fellow. He joins 15 department faculty who have previously received the honor.

DELTA Grant Nutrition Faculty Receive Gertrude Cox Award
Former DELTA Grant Recipients Suzie Goodell and Natalie Cooke were awarded the Gertrude Cox Award for Innovative Excellence in Teaching and Learning with Technology. This award was created to honor the creative pedagogy of NC State’s faculty and their work in integrating new technologies into effective teaching strategies.
