This year, we are looking forward to gathering for the 31st annual CALS Tailgate on September 10, 2022! CALS Tailgate will be held at the Close-King Indoor Practice Facility and will begin at 9:30 a.m. leading into the NC State vs. Charleston Southern football game at Carter-Finley Stadium at 12:30 p.m.
This email is to inform you that registration is open to be an exhibitor in the Close-King Indoor Practice Facility for CALS Tailgate.

As an exhibitor, we ask you to please provide an engaging experience for our donors, alumni, and guests that highlights your area of the college or program. You will be provided a 8 ft x 4 ft space, including one (1) 8-foot table and one (1) tablecloth at no cost. Additional tables and tablecloths will be $25 for each item. The deadline to register is Wednesday, August 24, 2022, at 5 p.m.
NEW for 2022: CALS Tailgate will be FREE this year. The new format will provide the opportunity for anyone to join the CALS Tailgate celebration to learn more about the college. In light of the early kick-off start time, we will not be serving our usual lunch buffet but we will be serving Howling Cow Ice Cream.

A little bit of history…
CALS Tailgate was first hosted by the CALS Alumni and Friends Society Board that remains involved in the continuation and development of this event. They hosted what was deemed “the largest reunion in the history of NC State” on October 10, 1992, just four short months after the board was formed. CALS departments were asked to host exhibits – a programmatic piece still intact today. Following the success of this inaugural event, the motion was approved to make it an annual occurrence. There are still a handful of those founding members who still sit on the board today.
What is CALS Tailgate?
Although this event has grown through the years and shifted to a staff-led effort, the core intent has remained the same. A proud tradition of providing family-friendly fun and highlighting the people, programs, and partners that make our college great. Here are some pictures highlighting the 2021 CALS Tailgate.
What is Ag Day?
The 2022 CALS Tailgate will be held in conjunction with the 10th Annual Ag Day football game. Ag Day, a game day theme set by NC State Athletics Marketing in partnership with Wolfpack Sports Properties and the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. It is an important opportunity to promote the connection between NC State and the agriculture, agribusiness, and biotech industries in North Carolina in front of thousands of fans at Carter-Finley Stadium.
