Dr. Chad Jordan from the Plant and Microbial Biology department was recognized on January 25th at the University Academic Advising Award Ceremony & Reception as a nominee for the Faculty Advisor Award.
Dr. Jordan’s commitment to helping students, professional development, improving advising practices on campus and his knowledge, use and promotion of NC State’s policies earned him the CALS Outstanding Faculty advisor award for the 2018-2019 academic year.
“His guiding principles and themes for working with students is listening to what matters to them, helping them become doers, helping them develop problem solving and critical think and being accessible to the students,” Samantha Mowery, one of Dr. Jordan’s advisee’s writes.
Dr. Jordan is so extremely helpful with answering questions, even when they do not strictly fall under his realm of advising, such as being knowledgeable with study abroad and financial aspects of the university. I also think he deserves recognition as he responds to emails extremely quickly and always finds a way to help you out or guide you in the right direction. He is also super enthusiastic about what he does for the Plant Biology Department and is the nicest man!”
We are very proud of Dr. Jordan and all that he has done for CALS and NC State.
