We invite all teaching faculty, student services staff, and advisors (academic and club) to join us for the CALS Academic Programs annual fall meeting next Tuesday, August 15 from 9am-11am in Riddick Hall.
If you teach/serve/assist CALS students, regardless of your number of years/months/weeks/days you’ve worked in CALS, we hope you will attend.
The meeting format will be as follows:
- AP update session – introductions, initiatives, and general information for the good of the group.
- Breakout session – pick a topic and join members of the AP team to discuss; would you like to learn more and offer suggestions about CALS efforts with graduate students, IT support, pathways to CALS, scholarships, K-12 recruitment efforts, or professional development for CALS students? Join the conversation and let your thoughts/opinions/concerns be heard. We suggest departments divide and conquer…have a voice in all breakout areas of interest.
- Listening session – we want to know what’s on your minds; what’s working well and what could be improved? Again, we want to hear feedback from all in our college who work with CALS students.
You’ll note a question on the registration form that encourages you to recognize a colleague. Who in your area has gone above and beyond to assist students? What have they done and what are the results of their hard work? If you have someone in mind, we want to hear about it (and recognize them at the meeting).
We look forward to seeing you on Tuesday, August 15 from 9-11am. Registration (packet pick up, nametags, and light refreshments) will be in the Riddick Hearth from 8:15-8:45am that morning. We hope to see many CALS faculty, staff, and advisors in attendance.
