CALS Farm Safety

A young farmer checks on a cotton crop.

North Carolina is home to over 80 commodities from strawberries and sweet potatoes, cotton and tobacco, to apples and row crops. Spring is around the corner, and that means planting season is coming soon. It is important for us to take a moment to refresh our memories on safety on the farm, on the research stations and in the field.

The CALS safety committee reminds everyone to have a safe and productive field season. For additional information on farm safety, see the Farm Safety website by Grant Ellington, Extension assistant professor, Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering.
