The week of May 5-11 is designated as NC State Employee Appreciation Week – a week-long celebration of all the fantastic employees who make our university an exceptional place to learn and work! This is your chance to get involved and give some well-deserved shoutouts to your teammates and colleagues in CALS.

University Events and Activities

The university has a whole week of exciting events lined up:

• Mindful Monday: Start the week by prioritizing your mental health and well being.
• Thankful Tuesday: Share your appreciation and gratitude to Pack members who positively impact your work day.
• Wolfpack Wednesday: Celebrate NC State by connecting with people, places and programs to foster Wolfpack spirit.
• Team Building Thursday: Participate in a team building event with your Wolfpack, or plan your own.
• Funday Friday: Finish the week with fun ways to appreciate your Pack.

Each day includes a variety of activities, webinars, perks and promotions available to NC State employees. Many of the activities listed in the links above can be done virtually, making it easy for everyone to participate.

University HR has invited everyone to take photos as they do things related to Employee Appreciation Week and send them to hrcommunications@ncsu.edu or post them on X and tag @WolfpackAtWork. Your pictures may also be used on the UHR website, in the UHR newsletter or on X.

Pride of the WolfPack Award

A great way to recognize the outstanding work of those in our CALS community is to nominate them for NC State’s Pride of the Wolfpack Award which recognizes individuals who demonstrate university values. NC State staff, faculty and students can nominate an employee for the award. Nominations for this award are accepted year-round and winners are announced quarterly.

PAWS and Say Thanks

PAWS and Say Thanks is an on-the-spot, peer-to-peer recognition program that allows employees to send electronic or physical thank-you cards to outstanding colleagues throughout the university. When you notice an employee going above and beyond in performing their job duties, PAWS and Say Thanks is a quick and easy way to express how much you appreciate their hard work.
