This course is designed to introduce students to the Irish Horse Industry. Students will have the opportunity to learn about all facets of the equine industry in a country that is world-renowned for its horses. Students will be introduced to Ireland, Irish horse breeds and sporting disciplines via seminars and online sessions in the latter part of the Spring semester. Then, students will spend 16 days abroad, visiting historic stud farms and racetracks, having lectures and information sessions at several colleges, veterinary clinics, research facilities and feed companies, and riding across the Irish countryside (no experience required), all while enjoying the sites and culture of Ireland.
