Ireland: Global Food Systems and Sustainable Agriculture

Ireland-SustainableFarm
The United States and Ireland are intertwined culturally, economically and politically. Participants will have the opportunity to acquire first–hand knowledge of livestock and crop management practices, food science and processing, and food security in the host countries. Students will tour a variety of livestock, fruit, and vegetable production farms and will meet with representatives from prominent agricultural research and governing bodies such as the University College Dublin and Teagasc (Agricultural and Food Development Authority). In addition, students will have the opportunity to attend the Balmoral Agricultural Show, the largest annual farm show in N.
