Daubert Named University Research Fellow
Dr. Christopher R. Daubert, head of the NC State Department of Food, Bioprocessing and Nutrition Sciences, has been named an NC State Vice Chancellor Research Fellow. In cooperation with the university’s Office of Research, Innovation and Economic Development and the Office of Technology Commercialization and New Ventures, Daubert will lead a study on entrepreneurial culture at peer and aspirational universities.
The project, which starts Dec. 2, “aims to create a roadmap for NC State and other land-grant institutions to better contribute to the economic development efforts of the states we serve,” Daubert says.
An internationally-recognized expert on food rheology and texture, Daubert also directs the Food Rheology Laboratory at NC State. He and his research team apply fundamental engineering principles and physical-chemical models to explain ingredient functionality known to impact food quality. Among his numerous awards and honors, Daubert is a member of the NC State University Academy of Outstanding Teachers and a fellow of the Institute of Food Technologists.
