Prakash Bhave
Bio
Dr. Prakash Bhave is a math lecturer at the Agricultural Institute (AGI) at NC State University. He enjoys helping students achieve success in college and is constantly finetuning the AGI math curriculum to ensure it provides maximal benefit in their future careers. Prakash is currently working on a research project to quantify the impact of AGI education on the lives of our alumni. He previously advised the AGI Club and is currently advising the NC State Water Polo Club.
Prior to joining AGI in 2018, Prakash had an illustrious research career in the field of air pollution. He worked for 15 years in the Federal Government, internationally, and in academic environments, becoming one of the world’s leading experts on the subject. He recently completed a 3-year project funded by the U.S. State Department in which he helped scientists in 10 countries across South and Central Asia monitor their air pollution and communicate those findings to their national government’s environmental agencies and municipal stakeholders.
Dr. Bhave earned degrees in environmental engineering from the University of California at Berkeley and the California Institute of Technology. He has co-authored over 60 peer-reviewed research publications and 200 conference presentations during his career.
In his spare time, he enjoys singing in the State Chorale with his daughter, playing chess with his son, directing the band at his Sunday school, swimming, bicycling, and traveling the world with his family of five.
