Bio

Ernesto is an Army veteran who has served, and deployed as a public health technician. He continued to serve by supporting underserved populations in school support roles and as a bilingual communications administrator in Wake County Public School’s district office. With bilingual skills and an educational background in design, technology, and learning sciences, Ernesto brought versatility to the public school system. Currently, Ernesto continues to support underserved populations, a group he deeply relates to due to his own upbringing and experiences. He was brought to the United States as a child by his Cuban family, who fled the dictatorial regime as political asylees.

Ernesto enjoys staying active both physically and mentally, and is continually exploring what it means to live a fulfilling life. He frequently uses his Kindle Scribe to read novels and nonfiction books that probe themes of the human condition. He also engages in reflective writing and journaling. His bio would not be complete without mentioning his four-legged companion, Greywind, an 8-year-old Alaskan Malamute who has been his partner in many adventures.
