NC FFA Receives NC Tobacco Trust Fund Commission Grant

North Carolina FFA was recently awarded a $50,000 grant from the North Carolina Tobacco Trust Fund Commission (NCTTFC). The NC TTFC was created to assist current/former tobacco farmers, former quota holders, persons engaged in tobacco-related businesses, individuals displaced from tobacco-related employment, and tobacco product component businesses in North Carolina. The grant will fund the Agricultural Education Teacher Cohort program.

North Carolina Agricultural Education and FFA will provide purposeful leadership and personal growth experience for 16 North Carolina agriculture teachers with five to 15 years of experience. These 16 teachers will participate in a two-year cohort program that will allow them to learn more about themselves, how to lead others and connect with state leaders in agriculture and education.  The outcomes of this professional development experience include growing the leadership of our participants and providing an opportunity to retain the best agriculture teachers in the state.

Congratulations on the grant and we look forward to hearing about the cohort’s success. You can learn more about NC FFA here.
