Mental Health and the Pandemic: A Professor’s Struggle with Bulimia
The COVID-19 pandemic has created hardship and stress for many people around the world. Immediately we think about all the jobs lost and the troubled economy. But for some, the hardship is internal. For Lindsey Haynes-Maslow, an associate professor and extension specialist in the Department of Agriculture & Human Sciences, her battle is with bulimia. She recently opened up about her personal struggle with the disease and her steps to recovery in The Conversation. Haynes-Maslow hopes by sharing her story, that our country will come up with a plan for addressing the inevitable mental health crisis associated with the pandemic.
