  • My areas of research and engagement include youth development with a focus on belonging, leadership, storytelling and the experiences of LGBTQ+ young people across familial, school, and community contexts.
  • Before going into academia, I worked as a school counselor.
  • I have lived in four countries and believe deeply in the value of studying abroad. I was fortunate enough to teach a study abroad course in Spain last year, and I co-led a program with students in Puerto Rico in March.
  • I have three kids who speak three languages and were born under three different presidential administrations.
  • My hidden talent is speed-eating fruits and vegetables.
