Exceptional Work Earns Saifur Rahman Prestigious Fellowship

Saifur Rahman, a doctoral student in the Department of Agricultural and Human Sciences (AHS), has been awarded the Mansour Doctoral Fellowship for the 2023-2024 academic year. This prestigious fellowship is granted to the most outstanding international doctoral students, enhancing NC State’s global competitiveness. Rahman serves as a graduate teaching and research assistant in the AHS department.

Rahman’s supervisor, Joseph Donaldson, nominated him for the fellowship. In his nomination letter, Donaldson highlighted Rahman’s “research experiences and academic performance, which reflect a high level of scholarship and potential for success.” Wendy Warner, the AHS interim director of graduate programs, also commended Rahman, stating that he is “a promising scholar with an exemplary academic record, including numerous publications in international journals.”

Rahman earned both the master of science and bachelor of science degrees from Bangladesh Agricultural University. His teaching and research address extension education, including agricultural development and rural youth. In addition to NC State’s extension education undergraduate courses, Rahman served as a graduate teaching assistant for Science, Education, and Extension Inside Greek Agriculture, a recent NC State study abroad program.
