Lori McBryde serves as an Area 4-H Agent for Eastern North Carolina, where she provides leadership and support to county 4-H Agents in both the Northeast and Southeast Districts. She has dedicated nearly 28 years to North Carolina 4-H and Cooperative Extension, including 16 years as a 4-H Agent in Johnston County. Lori’s primary responsibilities include coaching and mentoring 4-H Agents, coordinating the Dr. Kim Ingold 4-H Photography Contest, assisting State 4-H Staff with the planning and delivery of state-level contests and events, and chaperoning North Carolina 4-H youth on National 4-H Congress and National 4-H Conference trips. Her work focuses on strengthening agents’ capacity, supporting high-quality youth programming, and ensuring consistent, engaging opportunities for 4-H members across the state.
Lori is also a proud former 4-H member, having spent 13 years in 4-H in Lincoln County. During her time as a 4-H’er, she was a member of the 4-H Honor Club and actively participated in Presentations, Project Records, and what was then known as Cumulative Records. She represented North Carolina at National 4-H Congress as the State 4-H Fashion Revue winner and was a member of the State 4-H Dairy Judging Team. These experiences continue to shape her passion for positive youth development and her commitment to supporting volunteers and agents who make 4-H possible. She is married to David, and they have two children, John and Katie.
