Digital Photography Essentials Workshop
August 6, 2022 | 9:00 am - 1:00 pm
Mary Louise Ravese of Bella Vista Photography will lead a two-day workshop for beginner photographers. The workshop is for people who have a digital SLR (DSLR) or mirrorless camera and are interested in learning how to successfully use their camera beyond automatic/program modes.
The class will concentrate on the five camera settings: focal length, aperture, shutter speed, ISO and white balance. We also will discuss how to interpret the image histogram, a camera feedback mechanism, and use that information to adjust and optimize image exposure for the next shot.
The workshop will include indoor classroom learning and hands-on practice photography in the JC Raulston Arboretum gardens. Participants will receive handouts, home practice exercises and a quick reference sheet. The class is suitable for people 15 and older. Previous experience with the camera is not needed.
You’ll need to bring the following items to class: A DSLR camera or mirrorless camera.
The class is best suited for Canon, Nikon, Sony, Fuji and Olympus camera users. Cameras without removable lenses may not be well-suited for this workshop. At least one lens. A memory card. A charged camera battery. Notepaper and a pencil or pen.A bagged lunch or snack.
