Bio

Gaurav is a Post Doctoral Fellow doing his research in the Plant and Microbial Biology department under Dr. Manuel Kleiner. He is currently seeking to understand microbial and plant proteins that are involved in microbe-microbe-plant interactions with strong impact on drought tolerance in maize. Gaurav graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Zoology, Botany, and Chemistry from Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology, and Sciences (SHUATS), India in 2015. He then completed his Master’s degree in Plant Biotechnology from Banaras Hindu University, India in 2017. He attained his Ph.D. in 2022 from Department of Botany, Banaras Hindu University, India under the supervision of Dr. Satish Kumar Verma, focusing on functional roles of seed endophytic bacteria of maize in seedling development and biotic stress tolerance. He was funded by CSIR (Council of Scientific and Industrial Research), India during his Ph.D. tenure.
