The Long Run

CALS alumnus Robert Moore will face mountains and the summer heat to run the equivalent of six marathons in six days. His goal: raising awareness of multiple sclerosis, a disease he’s dealt with since he was a student at NC State 10 years ago.

Giving Students the Chance to Travel

Graduate School Dean Emeritus and BAE alumnus Bob Sowell and his wife Suester have established Robert and Suester Sowell Graduate Student Travel Fund, an endowment that will help graduate students pay for travel to present papers at professional meetings and conferences.

Faculty Focus: Shah Seeks Real-World Solutions

Sanjay Shah sees the potential of solar energy use in livestock barn heating, not only for reducing heating fuel use but also improving the indoor air quality. So he is working to test a low-cost solar air heating technology that could have an immediate impact on poultry and pig producers.
