Nagy is Caldwell County Extension director

Seth N. Nagy, an agricultural Extension agent in Caldwell County, has been named director of the N.C. Cooperative Extension center there, effective Feb. 1.

Nagy’s appointment was announced by Caldwell County Manager Stan Kiser and Dr. Joe Zublena, director, N.C. Cooperative Extension Service. Nagy succeeds Allen E. Caldwell who retired in April 2009, after 13 years as Caldwell County Extension director.

Nagy has worked as an agricultural Extension agent in Caldwell County since 1998. He earned a bachelor’s degree in animal industries and a master’s degree in animal science and food industries from Clemson University.

“It is a pleasure to have Seth Nagy taking on the leadership role with Cooperative Extension in Caldwell County” said Dr. Dan Smith, director of Cooperative Extension’s West District, which includes Caldwell County. “Seth has an excellent record as an agent, and I am certain that he will bring the same dedication, people skills and work ethic to the position of county Extension director in Caldwell County.
