Spring is in full swing at the JC Raulston Arboretum! Despite construction on Beryl Road, the arboretum is OPEN and bursting with spring blooms.
Beryl Road is closed at Interstate 440 in west Raleigh, including the stretch near the arboretum. The month-long closure will allow for the demolition of a bridge as part of an I-440 improvements project. Beryl Road is projected to reopen on May 21.
The JCRA will remain open throughout the project and is accessible via a detour from Western Boulevard. The entrance to JCRA on Beryl Road also remains open. The detour is as follows:
From Western Boulevard, turn onto Blue Ridge Road. Turn right onto Hutton Street and then take a left at the stop sign to continue on Hutton Street. At the next stop sign, take a right onto Pylon Drive. At Beryl Road, take a right, and the JCRA entrance will be on your right.

Visit the arboretum this weekend for Raulston Blooms!, which features the JCRA Spring Plant Sale, the 23rd Annual Birdhouse Competition, the Makers Market with artists and crafters, gardening talks and more.
