CALS Celebrates a Record-breaking Day of Giving
The college had its biggest Day of Giving ever, raising $13.77 million thanks to the generosity of CALS Pack supporters.

The CALS Pack showed up in record-breaking ways for NC State University’s annual Day of Giving that will drive cutting-edge research and innovative teaching in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences for years to come.
CALS raised $13.77 million with 1,828 gifts – doubling the total dollars raised in 2024, making this the college’s most successful Day of Giving ever. In all, the university raised $50.56 million with 18,565 gifts from donors.
CALS alumni, faculty, staff, parents and donors across the country and around the globe answered the call to share their passion on March 26 and help power the college to a bolder future.
“Your generosity fuels the mission and vision of CALS, allowing us to future-proof the food supply as we develop tomorrow’s workforce and drive resilience through innovation,” Dean Garey Fox says. “Together, we ensure our college’s programs, faculty and students continue to revolutionize how healthy food gets to our tables and nourishes our communities.”
The spirit and pride from the CALS Pack also helped the college win $15,675 in bonus funds from the university through the following challenges and leaderboards:
- Headstart Challenge – $1,000
- Why I Give Challenge – $500
- Where’s the Wuf – $500
- Wolfpack Throwback – $500
- Pack Pets – $500
- Top 3 Most Gifts II – $500
- College/Unit Donation Leaderboard – $8,940
- College/Unit Participation Leaderboard – $3,181
- Power Your Pack Leaderboard – $54
The generosity of the day will have an impact for years to come, ensuring that CALS has the tools it needs to be successful in the classroom, in the lab and in the field.
