Behnke wins national eXtension award
Dr. Andrew Behnke recently won the national 2011 eXtension Community of Practice Achievement Award.
Behnke, assistant professor and Extension specialist in N.C. State University’s Department of 4‐H Youth Development and Family and Consumer Sciences, was recognized for his contributions to eXtension’s Just in Time Parenting (JITP) Community of Practice.
In addition to serving as a leader within the CoP, Behnke also spearheaded the adaptation of the online and print resources for Spanish speakers. He has used a number of social media tools — including Twitter, blogs, Facebook, YouTube and more — to engage parents and has created webinars for agents and specialists nationwide.
He was cited for his “technological innovation and extraordinary inclusiveness and generosity in sharing his skills and resources at the local, state and national levels.”
