Researcher unearths soil’s impact on human health

Using mainly synchrotron x-ray technology, Soil Science's Dr. Dean Hesterberg studies the fundamental mechanisms by which chemicals bind to soil at the molecular level. His ultimate goal is to bridge the gap between lab research and actual management of soil in real-world settings.

Agroecology Farm on a roll

The NC State Agroecology Education Farm and its founder, Professor Michelle Schroeder-Moreno, win three awards in two weeks thanks to hands-on lessons in sustainable agriculture for students and community members.
