A&T Grassroots Leadership Conferences focus on economic empowerment

The North Carolina Cooperative Extension Program based at N.C. A&T State University is hosting three Grassroots Leadership Conferences entitled, “Economic Empowerment: Entrepreneurship, Money Management and Workforce Development.” The conferences, beginning Feb. 21, will be offered in each of the three Extension Program regions.

The Grassroots Leadership Conference, hosted annually by the Extension Program’s Strategic Planning Council, brings together a diverse group of stakeholders throughout North Carolina. The goal of the conference is to discuss real issues that impact North Carolinians, to provide opportunities for dialogue and to identify strategies and solutions to help improve the quality of life for North Carolinians, especially those with limited resources.

Morning sessions for the conference will begin with a dynamic keynote speaker, followed by a moderated panel discussion. After lunch, participants will engage in round table discussions on economic empowerment issues to identify strategies and next steps.

Each conference will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dates and locations for the sessions are:

• February 21, Duplin County Extension Center, Kenansville (Register by Feb. 6)

• March 6, Lee County Extension Center, Sanford (Register by Feb. 20)

• March 9, Swannanoa 4-H Center, Swannanoa (Register by Feb. 20)
